Seven Deadly Sins Dragon’s Judgement Ep 1 From Purgatory is out now and we will be breaking it down. Since this is a breakdown there will be spoilers. If you do not want to be spoiled please stop now and go check out the episode. AGAIN SPOILERS AHEAD.
Okay so the episode is basically split in 3s as we have 3 things happen at once. The 1st is us starting out to see what is going on in Purgatory as we check on Ban search for Meliodas feelings and we just see a hellscape as these monster throw down and go at. As we see one come out on top we learn that this monster who just took out another is Ban as he looks for Meliodas he is not only facing how physically harsh this place but the fact he might lose himself and become one of the monsters.
But remember his love he returns to normal but is no closer to finding Meliodas then he was before. And that is when we understand that too him it has been a long time as Ban is thinking it has been decades since he started as for those in the normal world it has only been a quick night. Keep in mind purgatory has a huge time difference then the normal world. How much is unclear but it is a big gap.
From there we jump to Harley Quinn as him Derderaa and 2 of the arc angles chase after Estarossa. Now everyone has there reason to go after Estarossa as the angels want revenge for Mael, Derderaa wants pay back for Mouse and Quinn just wants to get Elizabeth back. Everyone wants a piece of Estartossa except for one as Gowther seems to have something else in mind.
We then go to the demons as we have Merlin and Escanor traveling with Ludoceil Gilthunder and Hendrickson. Keep not that Ludociel is measuring up his own allies as figures how the fight will go with Merlin and Escanor being the top of his list for there knowledge in terms of Merlin and power for Escanor. For Gilthunder and Hendrickson he seems them as basically sacrifices if he needs it.
Inside where Meliodas body is being changes we have Chandler , Cusack and Zeldris waiting for them. Zeldris is the person to note here as he seems to be working with his brother on sole fact that he will keep his promise. The promise is known to manga fans as we know who it is. I won’t spoil that as we learn that does come into play in the story later so that is a big spoiler but for her they are standing guard waiting for anyone who comes.
Now we jump from that to Quinn catching up to Estatrossa and this is just a a quick sight as they see him absorb Elizabeth and then attack him to let her go. Now keep in mind this means nothing to Estarossa as he is to powerful for them to stop. Now we go from back to the demons as we have the Stigma arriving.
Now from here we see Chandler take his true form as well a Cusack which for anime only fans it will be for the first time but we have the demons go against the stigma with Hendrickson and Gilthunder sitting out. Keep in mind we have 2 demons which can easily make up for the missing strength of the commandments. Yet we see Merlin and Escanor hold there own where before Chandler dealt them easily. Just put up to anime showing off an enemy. Since that time is over so to is his time to be op.
We also see something else of note here as Escanore tries to cut the demon egg with Meliodas inside only to not leave a scratch. Keep in mind Escanor is the strongest Sin physically. To anyone new this is the same as the Hulk or Superman hitting something at full power to have no effect. It shows this will not be easy. We also have Ludociel and Zeldris show off there swords skills with how fast they are leaving small cuts on eacother.
This is probably the best time to say the animation is better than last season but not by much as these fights here are okay between the stigma and demons but it is later on where i ask question. The thing to note is Hendrickson saying Ludociel even though he say the attack coming. It could be seen as him proving he will sacrifice to protect him. We then jump back to Ban who is pushing himself with all he can to find Melidoas.
Now I want everyone keep this in mind this place if pure torment on Ban physically as well as mental. He is dealing with brutal conditions and horrible air at the same time if he loses himself he will turn into the beast who are trying to kill him. While the name the series use is purgatory it is best to think it is hell. But Ban keeps going to find Melidoas and soon he is attacked by another creature who will not give up.
Keep in mind we are talking about Ban who is not easy to deal with so to keep coming back at him is something. But after saying that he wants to go back with Meliodas where everyone is waiting for them he hears Meliodas voice and soon he wakes to see the dragon was Meliodas and this is the one we know the kind hearted one so for fans it was nice to see him back in the manga and it is the same here. We end as the friends share a hug.
Now the anime again is average as the fight with demons and stigma was okay but the fight between Ban and Melidoas chibi dragon form was filled with cutaways and nothing that wowed. Also yes fans are noticing that the anime is leaving out details such as Margret not wearing makeup while Ludociel is controlling her. As to why a male angel who never wore make up made Margret do so was at my guess a way to show someone else was in control other than the 6 wings. We can hope for better as the big battles are yet to come and we can only hope they do better. But let me know what you think.
