Lets talk Shadow Hearts continues as we should talk about how the game will should handle returning characters? If you don’t understand what I am talking about Shadow Hearts Covenant had a big returning character in Yuri as he reprized his role as the main from the 1st game. A spot originally meant for Nicolai.
While I don’t think we want the main spot to only go to Yuri or Johnny we do want past members to come back into the party. Case in point some want Koudelka to be part of the party or Johnny for that matter. One of the biggest question fans of SH have is why we didn’t get to play them much less see them when they went to US where From The New World was based in.
These characters are as powerful as they are weird. One of kind that we want to keep up with and see more off. At the same time we still cast to grow as each game should introduce us to more characters from this world that can only make us fall in love with it more.
This puts in the situation that is more fighting game then RPG. As a fan of fighting games I both yearn getting new characters but at the same time want old ones to stick around making it a love and hate relation ship. Given how this rarely happens in RPG it will be interesting to see how they handle it.
With that said everyone keep in mind that this isn’t just fan idea but something that might be a thing since we know we will have something like it in a way. You see we know that we will have a valentine in the party as one has always in in all 3 games. In the last 2 we technically had all 3 siblings. Now the other point is according to Matsuzo Machida he wanted the game to focus on the Hyuuga blood line. So there is a good chance if the series had continued that we would have seen Yuri a few times let alone played him. Maybe not in the main man role but he would be there.
