Guilty Gear Strive had a new trailer shown off today that took us through various modes of the game. We will look at that here as we did get some more information on the game as a result.
We start the same place the trailer did with single player content looking arcade mode. Arcade mode will have you learning what is leading up to the main content of the story mode. This will have branching paths as we have discussed before but also tag team fighting when the chips are down.
Now things are still unclear as we see Ky keep coming in to save Sol. It is unclear if you only get one character out of the first 15 to come and save you or if it will switch. We also don’t know why Ky color for electricity are different when he does join the fight.
They also showed off new stages. Which I will say again we do not know how many stages we are getting. Remember there are 4 locations for each stage as you get knocked around the map. While we do see some are obliviously different you must keep that in mind as 2 of these two me might be connected.
We also have tutorial mode which will help you prepare for the game. Through this and training mode you can training mode you can see what the game can truly offer. This will help you as you can set up situation that cause you trouble and hopefully get over it. Since these 2 are similar I am grouping them together.
We then have survival mode which is what you expect. The one thing that is still unclear are the dark or shadow version they keep showing off. The reason why I bring them up is due to the fact that they are a call back to the old XX games. If that is the case they will not be the only version you will be facing off against.
We also have Versus which is the same in all other games but with one added feature. You can set the opponent to AI so you can face the computer with this one character. It is something to note as not all game allow you to do it.
We also have mission mode which will also teach about the game in a sense. I am saying these as you can practice here too in a sense as you will go over the game mechanics as well combos for your character.
This then bring us to Online. We know about the lobby here but what you may not know is that the game can cross play allowing PlayStation 4 players to face off with PlayStation 5 players. Not only that but according to one person there is roll back in the game. They are just not calling it that it seems as one of the producer posted on twitter.
We then have story mode which has a lot that you might have missed if you weren’t paying attention. First off it is taking place America. The reason this is huge is that US for the most part has been left out of the lore. Yes we saw the president in the last game learning he was a big fan of Johnny but for the most part it isn’t talked about.
2nd we see Sol is coming to make a big decision about his life. What is bring him to this question we don’t know not only that but this will have a feature that will I see as a big thing.
The big thing the game will you to learn more about the lore in game. They will not only go over the event of this story but going back through the game history as well as touching on any points in lore such as names and connections. This is good as hopefully we will get a straight understanding as to how we got to this point. We also saw more of the story.

Now the trailer also stressed that the game will be updated as Arc system supports it beyond launch. What does this mean is probably DLC characters but I think it will be more. Other wise they wouldn’t have stressed it supporting after launch. That support will probably have more modes, characters as we expect and maybe versions. (Still hoping for those ex version.)
