The first chapter of The Four Knights Of The Apocalypse The Boy Sets Off is out now and we will be breaking it down. Since this is a breakdown there will be spoilers. If you do not want to be spoiled please go check out the chapter online. AGAIN SPOILERS AHEAD.
We are introduced to Percival and his Grandfather who are living by themselves on this mountain. They say island but it seems like high peek to me. But we see them just begin normal with Percival despite his size showing amazing feets of strength. I mean he is small and for some reason can use a sword twice his height the same way Cloud can in Final Fantasy.
Now they seem to be happy here with just the 2 of them but that changes when we learn that Percival is 16 years of age. Something he somehow forgot along with his age. But with him being 16 he is now of age to go see the world. Maybe not drinking as his grand puts it but everything else is on the table. The thing Percival doesn’t want to leave.
He wants to stay with his Grandfather despite him trying to give Percival a generous push tell him me and your father set off at the age of 16. He even talked about the adventure they went on. Still Percival says no and they basically end the conversation with his grandfather telling him no matter you must help the weak to which Percival says just leave it to me.
The thing Percival was lying as he would love to go he just didn’t want to have his grandfather be lonely. It is at this point we see a night appear before him. Now Percival and him seem to get along just fine until a the knight says something. “A cruel man to have raised you not knowing the truth. Now this can have so many meanings but we will get to that in the end.
Now we soon this knight is name Iron Side and he is here to kill Balagis aka Percival Grandpa. They know each other from fighting for King Arthur and at some point they left his side. But what we see is Iron Side take out Percival and Balagis with ease. It is here we learn of as to why after 16 years he has come after him. It is due to prophecy of 4 knights of the apocalypse.
We have no names but we know there are 4 and for fans of Seven Deadly Sins this is a twist. We have now 4 knights to beware of and stop them instead of chasing 7 that are outlaws. But since we have no information they are going after anyone who might have the possibility of being these 4 knights. As such Iron Side went after both of them. Balagis and as we learn his own son.
Now we have Percival going out to find him and we see he is not normal by far. How inhuman is he we don’t know but this whole chapter has us looking at this kid seeing odd as we were given hints his strength and endurance are not normal. How that is we will learn as the series goes on. But telling by the fan reaction they love it Those are my thoughts though let me know yours.
