So we now have Mael and every getting there memories back as the normal Gowther spell has worn off. With that we see Mael coming to grips with what he has been doing as Esterossa. From the lives that he took to aligning himself with the demon clan. All of it comes flooding back filling him with confusion and anger. Anger that gowther is here to take. Yes that is the one thing he came up here to do as he came up to be a punching bag.
Mael asked him why and we learn that it is because of balance. We know the illusion was meant to force the goddess clan to use the tomb on the demon clan. That was Gowther plan but we see here that in order to do that they did it with a form of balance. With Melodias leaving the demon clan the Gowther figured Mael being put under an illusion to be the one who killed the demon clan would make up for it. A simple question which only now leaves the pain. The issue is the pain is being put on a doll. And this doesn’t sit well with Mael. He wants to make the person who did to him to suffer as he has put him through. He can’t do that to a doll as all he will do is break as we see.
King does step in to help but he didn’t just save Gowther from Mael attack but he gave Mael someone to attack. This put King against Mael and we see King does some good work here but he is facing the strongest archangel. I saw that as you seem him take King attacks and handle blocks them.
This brings us to Mael fellow angles. Who want to help him but they have to take him down first since the commandments he is using are twisting his mind. Now he is not fully using the commandments as he is also using power of the goddess clan as well as we see him use an goddess clan spell. But as we see his form begins to change as the fight goes on. Changing as he uses more of the power of the commandments he has to get his revenge. We know he is twisted as they try to reason with him but he is not hearing it.
So now we have 2 archangels and King taking on Mael and he still holding his own. So in comes Deri who comes up with a plan of pinning him with Gowther psychic magic as well as attack him with the others. And it works for a bit but the issue is that Mael tricks them and that open he takes out Deri and gets her commandment.
With Deri down we see her go into an after life remembering her time talking to Mostep when Meliodas left. She remembers talking to the person who loved her sister and wanted revenge with her. And that is how we end the episode as we wait to see where this leads.
