Last week fans were rocked by the Persona 5 trailer not just because of how it looks but because it left us scratching our heads. Atlus apparently say us looking confused and has released more information this time we are looking at the main character who is at the moment still nameless.
The main is a second year high school student who is transferred to Shibuya Tokyo. Even though the kid is in Shibuya Atlus wants player to know that the game will have you all over Tokyo not just their. The scene where we see him in a cage shows the problem he faces in the game as it suppose to represent a prison of the mind. This can be taken as if the main character avoid his problem forever he will be imprisoned by it which brings the vigilantly part into it as they are rebelling against it. This goes for Anne and Ryuji who he meets in the beginning of the game.
The cat named Morgana though might have something else going on. As seen in the trailer she has two forms but as for her story it is not mentioned but director Katsura Hashino says Morgana is important to the story. Their will be random dungeons as well as certain dungeons that will be locked for certain areas.
Now another interesting noted was what happened after the trailer when we see the main character Persona standing behind him in a poster. The persona is named Arsène and it will be his exclusively. this struck people as Arsene looks similar to Apollo a Persona that was used by the hero in Persona 2. Also Hashino states the Persona is meant to look old school with his cape and wings. This may mean that we say the full version of the person in the trailer as it flew up in the air.
Battle system will still eb turned based. This time around character will have two sets of weapons, guns(which are not really guns) for long range with their melee weapons.
Social links will be in the game but in what forum is unclear. The Social link were seen in Persona 4 and it had character interaction tied with the persona the main character Yu can use as a wild card he can use multiple.
