There will be none playable characters that the players must deal with as well that when defeated will turn into soul chips. If you think this will be a big problem don’t. According to the article they have low health. Also the game at least I think for the location test will take place in Morioh (the same town as Diamond is Unbreakable.) “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Last Survivor is a “Stand battle royale” game for arcades where up to 20 players battle it out in Morioh Town (the setting of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 4). Twenty additional NPC characters called “D’Arby’s Assassins” also occupy the battlefield, meaning a minimum of 21 and maximum of 40 characters will participate in a game depending on the number of players. While D’Arby’s Assassins have the same appearance as player characters, their combat ability is incredibly low, meaning they are likely to be killed off early on. Almost all houses and buildings on the map can be entered, and like conventional battle royal games, the battle area narrows as time passes.
According to 4Gamer.net, while JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Last Survivor uses the battle royale game rule, its has a significantly different feeling to it thanks to its subject matter. Since attack power, method, and range differ depending on the character, “picking up items” does not play a major role in this game like it does in other battle royale games. And since every playable character is strong enough to battle in their initial state, you can decide to fight from the start of the match.
Given that numerous NPCs (D’Arby’s Assassins) are randomly moving around the field, battles occur often and the game moves along fast. Defeating D’Arby’s Assassins and other players earns you “Soul Chips,” which increases the character’s level (maximum level 6) to unlock new skills (stand abilities).
Characters are classified by type and operation difficulty. There are close range, shooting, and disturbance-type characters. Close range-type characters have short attack range, but higher speed and hit power than other characters. Shooting-type characters, on the other hand, have low hit power, but can attack from a distance. As for disturbance-type characters, Koichi Hirose is the only character so far revealed to belongs to that category. He has an ability called “Echo Stamp” that lets him shoot sound effects at places and enemies like bullets, which then continue to generate sound effects for a fixed period of time. Sound effects are displayed as on-screen Japanese characters, so this allows Koichi to give off a false impression of his whereabouts. (It should be noted that sound effects are regularly displayed as characters move and attack, but if they are crouching, sound effects for movement will not appear on the screen.)”
