Mario has Mario maker which allows you to make what ever level you want to push yourself or others. A cool idea. Hence why there are 2 of them. Some gamers might think it would be a cool idea for Sonic. To that idea Sonic developer Takashi Iizuk said no.
To set the scene Takashi Iizuk was asked this during Game Informer rapid fire. The developer shot it down quick and hurry. This shows 2 things to some fans. Sega is not planning on this type game and they mare is not interested in making it.
