Digimon Adventure Director on What and Where Digimon Comes From

Digimon Adventure is about human kids winding up in a world full of monsters called Digimon. It is here they join forces to hopeful save the Digimon world as well as the human one. nice concept only we must ask what are they and where do they come from? Thank fully we get that question answered as the for Digimon Survive touches on this and simples describes them s spirits that have always been here.

“I had several conversations with the director of the anime series Digimon Adventure, Hiroyuki Kakudo. We talked a lot about what Digimon are, and Kakudo-sensei’s understanding of Digimon is that they’re more of a spiritual being instead of digital. For people who played with the Virtual Pet, they understand Digimon only exist in the digital world so they’re basically some kind of data. However, Kakudo-sensei believes these Digimon – these monsters have always been there.

They have been around human beings in a more spiritual sense. It’s not just like a data thing. So based on that, Kakudo-sensei thinks Digimon have always been their partners so they have a big bond and interact with each other a lot.” Director of Digimon Survive‘s Habu Kazumasa

So, they are always with us as a spirit from another world or one slightly out of tun with ours. Not an odd concept if you think about it.
