Dragon Ball Super has 2 god forms with Goku having Ultra Instinct and Vegeta now in the Granolah saga having Ultra Ego. While we have seen difference in them through the fight between Granolah and are two saiyan heroes. The big difference being Ego seeming taping into the emotion with Vegeta using pain to drive the power where as Ultra instinct needs clarity. That said though it would be nice to get the creators take on that.
For this we turn to Toyotaro who has become the speaker for DBS in a way. He explains the difference between the 2 is how you want to move your body. “The original Japenese words for “Instinct” and “Ego” are similar,” Toyotaro explains. “But depending on the kanji, or the reading, Instinct becomes your body moves on your own right? So that’s Ultra Instinct. Ego, on the other hand, is “doing as you please,” right? In short, it’s the difference between your body moving freely and moving your body freely.”
I know it doesn’t explain it all that well. But thinks of it like this. Goku love fighting. This can go for a friendly spare with a friend or facing a powerful enemy that he has no chance. Goku is always down for a good brawl and he has gained new level of power for this. Vegeta on the other hand has gained power through his pride in completly overpowering his enemy. As such these 2 god abilities tailor to these 2 as it allows them to tap into the essence of there character to achieve new levels of power. (With the exception of Super Saiyan as according to lore Vegeta gained that but forget about chasing after Goku) . Hopefully that helps.
