Akira Toriyama really knocked out of the park with Dragon Ball. A manga series about a small with a tail about dragon ball that grant wishes has now become far more than that between games, anime and yes even more manga. A big franchise that according to recent news he will begin to give to his son.
This comes of off the Dragon Ball Super Super Hero Panel at Comic Con 2022 where producer Norihiro Hayashida explained Sasuke Toriyama over say his father legacy during DBSShero production. The producer only said it was for this project. I bring this up as it makes you wonder if Sasuke is will be doing it from now on. Something to point out as Akira still had say in this movie. It is how we got the title as he forgot about there already being Super in the titles thus Super Super Hero.
That said his family having the last say is new to manga and anime but not to anyone else. This happens with mostly authors as there estates are managed by family members after they are gone. From JRR Tolken and the lord of the rings to the born series. They mainly make sur ethe main spirit of the original work in intact as to whether it will be as good going forward depends on what they do with it. That is Akira retires.
