Four Knights of the Apocalypse Ch 146 is out and I would like to talk about it. This reaction will have spoilers. If you don’t want to be spoiled then stop now and go check out the chapter online over at comiXology or Kodansha. AGAIN SPOILERS AHEAD.
Sometimes the only way to break through the violent rage is by showing a loving heard. This is what Diane hope to do. The chapter focus has been on Mertyl with Nakaba showing he is not King and Diane son but an adopted kid they took in. A painful idea Mertyl has been living brought to the surface Nasiens presence. A rage now given form thanks to Camelot. Might as well put the rage to good use.
So how do beat it? Diane uses her body of course. Th giant lady of the sins isn’t just known for her strength but her heart and body. When it comes to it Diane has always been ready to lay her body on the line while at the same time wearing her heart on her sleeve. As such when she sees Mertyl lashing out in anger from internal pain she wants to comfort him.
It seems brutal but it is something Diane does. If she need to prove she needs to be strong she will use metal body. We have seen she will do it even against some of the demon clan. But this required us to hear heart to breakthrough to Mertly and it is a good moment. We see Diane we love show her determination and heart.
We also learn the drug of Yore was used only to have no effect. Mertly is a human being and thus he simple will have difficulty living with the fairs and giants. Answer they did find but it is a permanent one. I guess Nasiens will have to figure out another drug. Some fans did feel like this would be the case as the drug of Yore can only heal or break cruses not transform. So to those fans you were on to it. The violet rage defeated by a heart warming tale. The real thing Mertyl needed to know. He was family.
That said the chapter ends reminds us this was always about 2 people. This arc has been about Nasien and Mertyl. To people tied to switch of fate. A switch that now with Mertyl showing this is family without a doubt since it is all he knows we must ask what about Nasiens. Where will he fall in all this.
Nakaba kept this on Diane and King with 2 showing there strength. King the strong defender for his family with magical power and Diane the loving protector. Many fans are loving the fact that we are seeing the old guard in good form showing they are very capable. Yes we want to see Percival come back to kind of get things moving. But for anyone who has been hoping to see King, Diane and Bane not only with a cameo but in action as part of it this for you. As someone who wanted to see that it is nice.
I have been comparing this arc to Nasiens being using as a substitute for Percival to get us ready for his return as we are shown the decision he will have to make. I still see that as Percival will probably have to face the same issue Nasiens is going through right now. But will we get an answer with an over due return? We will see. This chapter was cool as we got to see Diane are her beast. Something fans love to see. Great.
