Earlier today a preorder page was posted for The King Of Fighters XV which show the cover for the game which had confirmed and unconfirmed characters. Well although the page got take down the images were save and we have those to look at. We also had info talking about a February 17 2022 release.
First we will talk about the box art. The box art has only the sacred treasure team as a complete team on it. The rest of the characters, Ash, K and Heidren will most likely have there own individual teams. These teams will have there own stories as much like the rest of the fandom I see K dealing with Nest, Ash dealing with those from the past and Heidren dealing with Rugal. Heidren facing rugal may seem weird as it is basically similar to Guile facing Bison in yes he went after him and was a big threat but the series main took care of him. Still it fits.
One more point about the character the one standing next to Shun might be what was hinted at in Verse ending. Shun has a piece of what ever Verse is inside him him allowing him to do what he does. This person seems similar so there is a good chance they have another fragment. As to when they got it we will have to see when more information comes out.
As for the Hud we see something interesting as it seems SNK is utilizing 2 bars with max mod being different from the power gauge. With max mode having its own gauge and you not have to spend meter to activate it from the power it seems to scream KOF XIII to me. I don’t mind it as again it reminds me KOFMA (maximum impact) with its colors but keep in mind we don’t know if this was the final look for the hud(bar displays). It is most likely but we don’t know for certain.
This in a way show we can expect more than a character reveal at Gamescom 2021. In fact there is an idea that the characters we are seeing we will see in the trailer SNK will show. Well hopefully one of them as fans are expecting more than just a new movie and character. SNK is saying there will be info at the event and we expect that to be the case with talk of game mechanics. Hopefully we will get it for now though check out more leaked images.
1 finally thing is this might not be the information for Gamescom. It doesn’t mean the information is wrong but it might just be information for after wards. Remember it is from ta preorder page.
